MARION GLENN STRINGFELLOW, 29 YEARS OF AGE, DIES AFTER ILLNESS OF ONLY SIX DAYS; SON OF LATE JOSEPH DOGAN STRINGFELLOW

Marion Glenn Stringfellow, 29 years old son of the late Joseph Dogan and Mrs. Bessie C. Stringfellow, passed away at 6 o’clock last night at the Alachua County Hospital, after an illness of only six days.

He was taken to the hospital several days ago when his condition became serious.  He had been regarded as in a critical condition for the past two days.

Mr. Stringfellow was born on his father’s plantation at Fort Clark, six miles west of this city on July 15, 1888.  His parents moved to Gainesville shortly after this time, and he was reared in this city, attending the high school and the University for two years.  He graduated from the University of Georgia.

He was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, the B. P. O. E. and the American Legion.  During the war he was a first lieutenant in the Transportation Department.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Bessie C. Stringfellow, two uncles, T. B. Stringfellow and John Kincaid, three aunts, Mrs. E. S. Walker, Mrs. F. D. Warner, and Mrs. A. R. Harper, all of this city and many other relations throughout this section and state. 

Funeral arrangements have not been completed as yet, but it is understood that the funeral will be held Sunday afternoon.  Internment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
