George S. McDowell funeral services held
Greenville, Texas, February 11, --
Funeral services were held Friday for George Sherrell McDowell,  72 retired farmer.

McDowell was born in Bradley, Tennessee.  He moved to Texas when he was eighteen and located at Fate in Rockwell County.  Later he moved to Hunt County to engage in farming.

Besides his wife he is survived by eight children, Guy McDowell, Mrs. Grace Fox,  Mrs. Jewell Samples, all of Greenville;  Frank McDowell of Dallas, Mrs. Mamie Lee of Farmersville; Mrs. Gladys Brown of Colorado City, Texas; Mrs. Opal Smith and Mrs. Marie Hackney of Morenci, Arizona;  Thirty-seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Mamie Geren Dallas, and four brothers, J. H. McDowell of Mesquite; J. L. McDowell of Aspermont, S. R. McDowell of Tulia and D. T. McDowell of Plano.
