LaGrange, Kentucky, January 30 -- Frank McDowell, the oldest man of this city, died in Louisville early this morning at the home of his niece, Mrs. Theodore Cowherd, of Haldeman Avenue.  He went to visit her about four weeks ago.  Going out for a walk he took a severe cold from which he never recovered.  He was eighty-four years old and has lived in this town for a number of years with his niece, Miss Bettie McDowell.  He was never married.  The funeral cortege will go direct from Louisville to Simpsonville today, where the body will be interred near his parents in the cemetery of that city.
